Motorola’s Moto G50 is a little smasher. Its battery goes on forever (well, 26 hours when looping a video – absolutely heroic), and it packs a punch with its octa-core 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset, backed up with 4GB of RAM. This Android 11 star has a dual SIM and 64GB of built-in storage, plus microSD slot. Oh and it’s 5G ready.
All that, for just £200. The Moto G50’s price has dropped to a bargaintastic £170 once or twice, but Amazon has pushed it even lower for Black Friday. Get this: the handsome Steel Grey model goes down to just £160, its lowest price ever.

What do we love so much about this budget phone? Our five-star Motorola Moto G50 review gave it a Best Buy award and raved about its performance, sleek good looks, 6.5in Max Vision HD+ screen and “incredible battery life”. We added: “It’s only a hair behind the Poco X3 NFC in terms of performance for £200. Factor in the nice, clean installation of Android and it’s clear Motorola is on to a winner here.”
You also get a 48MP triple rear camera, as seems to be standard now with phones right across the price range. The main 48MP (f/1.7) camera is joined by a 5MP (f/2.4) macro lens and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor for arty bokeh shots. Great on paper, but our reviewer wasn’t blown away by its image quality. This camera won’t be bothering the Pixel 6’s standings in our best camera phone rankings. But then, it’s nowhere near the Pixel’s price either.
The Moto G50 isn’t quite the cheapest Moto G you can buy, or the most powerful. But it is the best value, especially with this fab Black Friday deal, if you’re quick enough to catch it.
